7/9/2020Yesterday, July 8th, marked the beginning of the 2019 wheat harvest! Having come earlier this year, this wheat harvest looks different than harvests in the past. With the COVID-19 pandemic, flour mills have been operating at minimal production capacity or shut down, causing mills to be backlogged on contracts. Compared to 2018, the wheat markets have decreased. Another factor we take into consideration is the role the weather plays on wheat yield. The dry weather in the previous weeks resulted in smaller kernels, leading to a decrease in yields.
Although this year's harvest comes with a few challenges, we are committed to providing high quality products, as well as being a reliable storage facility for other local farmers. (Back to News & Events)
