What is a Transformer?

According to medium.com, "in simple words, Transformers are designed to modify an alternating current voltage that runs from one electric circuit to another through electromagnetic induction."

Why does Du Mond Grain, LLC need them? 

We have worked closely with NYSEG to bring a substation onto our property, allowing Du Mond Grain, LLC the power and flexibility it needs to power the facility. In doing this, we have updated the grid allowing more reliable electricity to local residents. Therefore, we need the transformers, so we can have reliable and trustworthy electricity to run our facility efficiently.
